150 YEAR OLD SANDALWOOD

OCTOBER 2019

Western Australian Sandalwood (Santalum spicatum) was once prolific in bushland now cleared to farm wheat and sheep in Western Australia.

Today some sandalwood “veterans” can still be found in the road reserves in these areas.

This solitary sandalwood tree on the edge of the road is estimated to be approximately 150 years old, still very healthy.
